The Montenotte

The Montenotte is an independent, design-led urban resort overlooking the cityscape of Cork. A former 18th-century residence of a Merchant Prince, the hotel blends a rich heritage with a bold, contemporary spirit. From panoramic views and art-filled interiors to its in-house cinema, rooftop bar, and boutique spa, the hotel has become a cultural and lifestyle destination in its own right. In August 2024, The Montenotte unveiled its most innovative offering yet: The Woodland Suite Experience – Ireland’s first luxury accommodation of its kind. Nestled among the trees, these suites evoke a sense of calm and connection to nature, redefining the idea of an urban escape.

Known for an innovative approach to luxury hospitality, The Montenotte has recently garnered media attention. The Woodland Suite Experience, launched in August 2024, has been celebrated for its unique blend of design and nature, earning the prestigious five-star classification from Fáilte Ireland and winning the ‘Lodges & Cabins’ category at the AHEAD Europe Awards 2024.

With a calendar is filled with thoughtfully curated experiences—from Wine Club evenings and nightly screenings at the resort’s private  Cameo Cinema, to live music, crafted cocktails & bespoke beverages at The Glasshouse, a stunning rooftop bar overlooking the city, there is always something interesting to discover at The Montenotte. Not least, the ongoing collaboration with The Kildare Gallery, hosting regular art and sculpture exhibitions, weaving contemporary creativity into the interiors and into the Victorian sunken gardens.
