The approach to the wine list is no different.

Bold and classic, old and new – the wine offering at The Montenotte transports you on an eclectic journey for the senses, around some of the finest vineyards of the world. Whether you enjoy the odd glass on occasion or consider yourself a budding connoisseur, every mood and taste has been considered, with a dynamic and diverse list of over 70 varieties to choose from.

Offering a multitude of experiences, what sets the wine list apart, is its accessibility whilst celebrating a wide range of grapes and their many varietal characteristics.

With a deep understanding of the geographical factors at play in perfecting the final character and composition of each bottle, guests are invited to tour the world as they sip, without ever having to leave Cork city. From beautiful Sauvignon Blancs from the Loire Valley in France, full bodied Syrahs from the North Island in New Zealand and a ground-breaking red blend from the Lebanon on the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea, many producers are small family run estates, each with a story to tell.

GENERAL MANAGER’S SELECTION

FRANCE – BEAUJOLAIS
Domaine Antoine Sunier, Morgon
These bunches are fed whole into the fermentation tanks, a method that enhances the freshness and red berried fruity aromas, which is aged in natural barrels and bottled without filtering.

CROZES – HERMITAGE
Crozes – Hermitage, Domaine du Colombier
This rich syrah displays a powerful nose with intense aromas of black fruits. Immediately intense with a supple palate with a peppery long finish.

SOUTH AFRICA WALKER BAY
“Hannibal”, Bouchard Finlayson (Pinot Noir, Nebbiolo, Mourvedre, Barbera, Sangiovese, Shiraz)
Smooth with lots of leather, ending in a velvety finish. Flavours of wild berries, and spicy plum all combine to present this delicious wine.
Galpin Peak Pinot Noir, Bouchard Finlayson,
A confident wine. Flavours of peppery spice with blackberry and cherry notes, ending in a harmonious and long earthy finish.

ITALY – MONTALCINO
Rosso di Montalcino, Pian Delle Vigne
This medium bodied wine offers sensations of cherries well integrated with the light notes of oak.

LEBANON – BEKKA VALLEY
Chateau Musar (Cabernet, Carignan, Cinsault)
Red cherries, plums and figs dominate the nose with a hint of eastern spice. The tannins are velvety soft with a long finish.
